Dish Cloth Pair - Crochet Pattern

 

Handmade all cotton cloths are the best! But don’t let the name fool you, these are great spa cloths too! Here is a simple and cute pattern to make for friends and family, but don’t forget to keep some for yourself.

Make 2 cloths reversing color A and B for each one if you want a matching set.

 

Yarn

Knit Picks Dishie worsted weight (190 yds / 100 grams) 1 skein each Silver (A) and Eggplant (B)

Any worsted weight cotton yarn will work for this project

 

Materials / Tools

Size I/9 - 5.5 mm crochet hook

Scissors

Yarn needle

Difficulty: Easy

Size: Each cloth measures 9 ½” x 9 ½”

 

Gauge

5 pattern repeats (15 stitches) = 4”/10cm 11 rows = 4”/10cm

Gauge is not critical for this project

 

Stitch guide

sl st… slip stitch

ch - chain stitch

sc - single crochet

hdc - half double crochet

dc… double crochet

 

INSTRUCTIONS

With color A Chain 32

Row 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (31 sc)

Row 2 Ch 1 turn. [sc, hdc, dc] in first sc. Skip next 2 st *[sc, hdc, dc] in next sc skip 2 st repeat from * across to last sc, sc in last st.10 [sc, hdc, dc] pattern repeats.

Rows 3-22 Repeat row 2

Fasten off

BORDER

Round 1 Attach color B in top corner. Ch 2 (does not count as first stitch), (2 hdc, ch2, 2 hdc) in corner st. Work 1 hdc in each st across to next corner, work (2 hdc, ch2, 2 hdc) in corner st. work 30 hdc evenly along the side of the cloth, (2 hdc, ch2, 2 hdc) in corner, 1 hdc in each ch across bottom, (2 hdc, ch2, 2 hdc) in corner st, work 30 hdc evenly along the side of the cloth join with sl st to first hdc.

Round 2 Ch 2 work 1 hdc in each st around working 3 hdc in each ch 2 corner. Join with sl st to first hdc.

Finishing
Fasten off and weave in ends.
